Family friendly hidden gem in Kópavogur with a great vibe.

Chef Ólafur Helgi Kristjánsson and his wife Sólveig J. Guðmundsdóttir run the restaurant Brasserie Kársnes, in a new neighborhood by Kópavogur marina and Sky Lagoon. 

Óli and his team of chefs have a great passion for cooking, and together they whip up a mouth-watering meal that is served by Sólveig and her wonderful team. The team aims at providing an excellent service so the customers can enjoy food and drink in a relaxed environment.



“We opened our restaurant in 2021. It was an old dream of mine to open my own place and in the midst of Covid, we decided to go for it. We found this place in a new, up-and-coming neighborhood in Kópavogur and have not regretted our decision.  

We aim at providing a pleasant and cozy atmosphere for our customers. One doesn´t always have to go downtown for culinary indulgence and now we have our regular customers who have been coming here from the get-go, which has created a lovely and personal environment. 

We provide delicious food on our menu, including juicy steaks and fresh fish. We also have a brunch menu on the weekends and our customers can choose an American brunch, Danish or French, to name just a few. We also have quite the selection on our drinks menu and offer an extensive wine selection, including a variety of cocktails and mocktails. 

We at Brasserie Kársnes have established a great relationship with our customers. We have excellent staff that has helped us create a cozy establishment and here, our guests can enjoy good food and drinks in a relaxed environment“.
